Transplante de microbiota fecal como estratégia para o restabelecimento da normobiose em cães e gatos: uma revisão

Este estudo aborda o transplante de microbiota fecal (TMF) como abordagem terapêutica para o restabelecimento da normobiose em cães e gatos, destacando sua relevância na medicina veterinária. O objetivo é coletar e sintetizar informações sobre o TMF, seus mecanismos de ação e aplicações clínicas, incentivando sua adoção entre os profissionais da área. A metodologia consiste em uma revisão narrativa de artigos publicados entre 2003 e 2024, com 50 estudos selecionados em bases de dados como PubMed, ScienceDirect e Web of Science. Os descritores utilizados incluem termos como “transplante de microbiota fecal”, “disbiose” e “enteropatia”. O texto está organizado em seções que discutem a microbiota intestinal, disbiose, métodos de análise clínica, TMF e suas aplicações atuais. Os resultados indicam que o TMF demonstrou ser eficaz no tratamento de diversas condições gastrointestinais, como diarreia crônica e doenças inflamatórias intestinais, com taxas de sucesso variando de 70% a 90%, dependendo da técnica de aplicação e do quadro clínico do paciente. Além disso, o estudo enfatiza a necessidade de diretrizes baseadas em evidências para padronizar as práticas de TMF em medicina veterinária, visto que seu uso permanece limitado. Conclui-se que, apesar do potencial terapêutico do TMF, mais pesquisas são necessárias para expandir suas aplicações e garantir sua segurança e eficácia em diferentes contextos clínicos, incluindo padronização de protocolos, avaliação de segurança em longo prazo, exploração de novas indicações e aquisição de dados mais consistentes sobre seu uso em gatos.
