Global consumption of fossil fuels is a factor that contributes to greenhouse gases and extreme weather events such as droughts, floods, wildfires, and heatwaves around the world. Although the world still needs oil as an energy source, it is important to look ahead and aim to reduce its consumption. One way is to focus on electricity from clean and renewable sources since there is a tendency to use it for daily activities, from cooking to transportation. Examples of such sources are wind, hydraulic, and solar, but this study will center on those dependent on rotating machines, based on permanent magnets, whose construction and dynamic aspects can influence their performance. Then, this article investigates the effects related to the inclination of neodymium permanent magnets housed in the rotor of a three-phase, brushless, radial flux microgenerator. The analysis of the data collected during the tests on the microgenerator demonstrates the direct influence of the relative inclination of these magnets on the total harmonic distortion in the device’s three-phase output voltage signal, which consequently has a direct impact on one of the parameters for analyzing the quality of electrical energy proposed by ANEEL.
