Abstract

to its high mechanical strength, biodegradability, and renewable origin. Derived from lignocellulosic
sources - particularly agro-industrial residues - its applications have expanded into fields such as
biodegradable packaging, materials engineering, biotechnology, and environmental remediation. This
growing relevance has stimulated scientific production and attracted the attention of research centers
worldwide. In this context, a bibliometric review was carried out using data from the Scopus database,
covering the period from 2020 to 2025. The objective was to map trends, identify the most influential
institutions, and analyze thematic directions in publications focused on nanocellulose. The
methodology employed VOSviewer software to visualize collaboration networks, research areas, and
institutional impact. This approach enables not only an understanding of scientific output but also
insights into the articulation among countries, researchers, and key areas of application. The findings
provide valuable guidance for fostering strategic partnerships, identifying research gaps, and
promoting policies that support the sustainable use of lignocellulosic waste through
nanocellulose-based innovation.
